A little boy with black hair and shining eyes bravely entered the pharmacy. The air was filled with the scent of medications and hygiene products, and the wooden shelves stocked with various items created an intriguing atmosphere. He pushed a small box towards the phone and, standing on it with childlike determination, reached for the buttons.
He dialed a seven-digit number and spoke loudly and clearly, “Ma’am, can I ask you to let me handle the lawn mowing?” The voice on the other end was surprised and replied, “There’s someone who does that for me.”
But the boy didn’t give up. With unwavering confidence, he said, “Ma’am, I’ll do it for half the price he charges.” The woman chuckled kindly and replied, “I’m completely satisfied with his work.”
The boy insisted further, “Ma’am, I’ll also sweep the sidewalk and the curb in front of your house. That way, you’ll have the prettiest lawn in the whole city by Sunday.” Yet again, the woman declined, remaining loyal to her current gardener.
With a smile on his face, the boy hung up the phone and fell into deep thought. The pharmacy attendant, who had been listening to his conversation, approached him with interest and said, “Kid, I like your attitude; because you have a special spirit, I’d like to give you a job.”
The young boy looked directly into his eyes and, still smiling, replied, “No, thank you; I was just measuring my performance. I am the one who works for that lady.”
The pharmacy attendant was astonished and asked, “How is that possible? You’re just a kid!”
The boy looked at him with confidence and said, “I always take pride in my work. This job not only gives me money but also teaches me how to serve others. I learned from a young age that I must do my best. Even though I’m young, I try to improve my skills every day.”
His response made the pharmacy attendant look at him with increased respect. He realized that this little boy, despite his age, had a big perspective and spirit.
At that moment, the boy felt that one day he might be able to start a big business and help others. With this thought in mind, he left the pharmacy and walked home confidently, smiling as he pondered his dreams.
