A man was sitting watching TV when suddenly Death appeared before him.
Death said, “It’s your turn now; I’ve come to take you.”
The man became a bit flustered and said, “Bro, if there’s a way, leave us alone for now and come back later.”
Death replied, “No, there’s absolutely no way. Everything is according to the plan. According to my list, it’s your turn now.”
The man said, “At least let me bring you a drink to ease your fatigue before you take my life.”
Death agreed, and the man went to get a drink. He poured two very strong sleeping pills into the drink.
When Death drank the concoction, he fell into a deep sleep.
While Death was asleep, the man took the list, erased his name, and wrote it at the end of the list.
He waited for Death to wake up.
When Death finally woke up, he said, “Well done, buddy! You really cheered me up. Your kindness has made me leave you alone, and I’ll start from the bottom of the list!”
And with that, Death left, thanks to the man’s kindness.
Moral of the story: Let’s behave fairly in all circumstances and avoid making futile efforts without purpose.
